SpaceX is planning to reinvent transportation. Company’s CEO, Elon Musk, has presented an idea, claiming that it will allow passengers to take “most long distance trips” in just 30 minutes, and go “anywhere on Earth in under an hour” for around the same price of an economy airline ticket.

Musk talked about this at a space conference and proposed using the forthcoming mega-rocket BFR (yes, the code name is Big Fucking Rocket 🙂

SpaceX has present the idea through a video that was published on YouTube. It will allow passengers to travel between London and Dubai in 29 minutes, Hong-Kong – Singapore – 22 minutes, Los Angeles to Toronto in 24 minutes.

Musk presented the idea at the very end of his speech, so he was light on details. The rocket is capable of refuelling in space, necessary for journeys to Mars, and images show the BFR transporting a satellite to orbit, arriving at the International Space Station and on both the Moon and Mars.

SpaceX has also been valued at $21bn (£16bn), which would make it one of the most valuable privately owned companies in the world, SkyNews writes.
